Twas The Night Before Christmas At The Schlabach House

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
(at the Schlabach's)

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through our house
The creatures were stirring, even a mouse
The stockings weren't hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Allen soon would be there

The children were jumping in their beds,
While visions of gifts danced in their heads;
And mama with her phone, with Daisy on her lap,
She had settled in for a long winters nap,

When out in the front lawn there arose a clatter,
We all ran to see what was the matter.
Grandpa and Grandma also tore open their sash,
And yelled out "What was that crash?"

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Gave the Schlabach home a glow,
When, what to our wondering eyes appear,
But a grey truck with a deer

Now Lena! Now Fee! Now Quinton and Sydni!
And you too Daisy!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!

As dry leaves that before the wild winds fly,
When we meet the obstacles, we mount for the sky,
So up to the house top he flew,
With his heart full of glee too,

And then in a twinkle, we heard on the roof,
The stumbling of the deers hoof,
As we gulped and looked around,
Down the chimney Allen came a bound,

He was dressed in his Charlie Brown Sweater,
And his cloth were all tarnished, but he couldn't have looked better
His gun he had flung on his back
And it looked like his deer had a big rack

His eyes how they twinkled! His dimples how Merry!
His cheeks were rosy, his nose looked like a cherry,
That's when we snapped our picture snap shot
So just be happy with the one that you got

Sydni with her mouth taped shut,
We never knew she could be so quiet, But!
Mama had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when she laughed like a bowl full of jelly

Quinton's pop was all gone, he was not a happy elf,
And we laughed when we saw him, in spite of our self
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head;
Soon told us, that nothing was to dread

Fee spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
To hang the stockings;then turned with a jerk,
And lay ed a finger aside her nose,
Saying he forgot the gifts and looked down at her toes

We sprang in the van, and gave a whistle,
And away we flew like the down of a thistle.
And all sang as we drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,AND ALL A GOOD NIGHT!"

As you can see we had fun doing this years family Christmas picture.

Our girls are growing into young pretty women. Still can't believe Felicia is a senior.
We are blessed with a family that has great humor.
It's been a year of change.
And allot of  laughter that came with it.
We have been blessed and we are very thankful. Thank you to all our friends and family for all the love and we LOVE you all!

Merry Christmas!
Allen Lena Felicia Quinton Sydni
